Chairman of the Korean Blockchain Association
As the Founding Chair of Korean Blockchain Association, Daeje Chin aims to strengthen the global competitiveness of the blockchain industry and build win-win relationships between governments, privates, and start-ups for sustainable technological development.
Chin started his career as a research staff at Hewlett-Packard Deer Creek IC Lab, and later at IBM Watson Research Center. In 1985, he joined Samsung Electronics where he was promoted to the CEO/President of the Digital Media Business by selection in 1999. He is widely recognized for his successful development of 16MB DRAM.
During his 3 year-office as the Minister of the Ministry of Information and Communication of Korea since 2003, he contributed to the elevation of Korean global IT competitiveness.
He also sits as the Chair and the CEO of Skylake Investment Co., a Private Equity Fund with AUM (Asset Under Management) of US$ 2 billion and the largest M&A fund management corporation in Korea.
He holds M.S. in Electric Engineering from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1979, and Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1983.
